Category Details

  • We've successfully transitioned the production of our standard cup range to feature Aqueous lining instead of PLA. These cups are now officially certified as home compostable according to Australian AS5810 standards. As we phase out our existing inventory, it's possible that you might still receive cups in a PLA bioplastic-lined carton. Rest assured, both the carton and the cups inside are clearly labeled with home compost certifications, allowing you to easily identify the stock you've received.
  • Aqueous cups are the future! Our Aqueous cups are certified home compostable to AS5810 standard. With our sugarcane lids, you now have a full home compostable solution!
  • Our aqueous cups are manufactured using a unique waterproof barrier coating, reducing the material needed while providing the same leak and grease-proof benefits as other coatings. Want to know more about our aqueous cups? Check out our materials page!
  • No cups in Australia are currently accepted in the paper recycling stream. Claims in Australia and New Zealand regarding recyclability can be verified by using the PREP
    tool. Read more here.
  • These cups are certified industrially compostable to European Standards (EN13432) and to Australian Standards (AS4736).
  • BioCup double wall takeaway coffee cups are designed with an extra layer of paperboard and a textured pattern for additional insulation to protect consumers.
  • Our double wall disposable coffee cups are a more economical and eco-friendly solution than double-cupping extra-hot drinks like teas and long blacks.
  • We use a heavy-duty, premium quality board giving our paper coffee cups superior stability, better lid fit and insulation.
  • They are printed with non-toxic, environmentally-friendly water or soy-based inks.
  • Our disposable coffee cups with lids have a 12-month shelf life.

Environmental Impact Label

Clear and accurate data is essential to understanding our impact on the environment and finding solutions to reduce it. The label below shows how a carton of this product impacts our planet. As a leader in sustainable packaging, this label is our way of being transparent, accountable, and committed to combating greenwashing.

The eco-cost calculated per carton, offers our customers a straightforward metric to understand and compare the environmental impacts of our products. Please note that it is not a hidden or added fee to the product's market price.

The eco-cost is independently calculated across four categories – biodiversity loss, effects on human health, material scarcity, as well as the more standard carbon emissions. BioPak utilises this data to identify areas with the greatest potential for environmental impact reduction, it is our job to reduce the eco-cost and your impact.
