Home Compostable Bin Liners Made From Plants

Our compostable bin liners are a great way to reduce your use of plastic at home and at your foodservice business. Our compostable bin bags are made from Ecopond – a synthetic bioplastic combined with plant starch. These bags are certified home compostable (AS5810) and industrially compostable (AS4736) to Australian standards. They also function as great FOGO (Food Organics and Garden Organics) bin liners. Some of our customers even use them to collect their dog poo and compost it at home. Many food service businesses are Compost Connect club members that use these compostable rubbish bags to collect any food scraps and our certified compostable packaging.

To ensure you purchase certified compostable bin liners, look for the seedling logo. The seedling logo is an internationally recognised logo that ensures the product you are using is actually certified compostable. Otherwise, you could contaminate compost with packaging that might contain plastic. Compost certifications aren’t given to products easily – to certify products; they must undergo rigorous testing from internationally recognised governing bodies. Tests are performed to ensure that these products break down in a certain time frame without leaving any toxic residue in the soil.
